Saint Helena Community Band

the NINE LIVES band

Formed in 2015, the Nine Lives Band features nine members from the larger Community Band. Facing logistical limitations of a large group of 40 or more, Kent Gaisford (trumpet) and Anahid Nazarian (saxophone) decided to put together a smaller group, allowing for more opportunities to perform, where a larger group could not.

The group originally called itself the Saint Helena Community Dixieland Band, playing Dixie jazz favorites, then, with an ever-expanding repertoire became the Saint Helena Community Jazz Combo. Today, as the Nine Lives Band, they bring high energy and musical whimsy to any event.

The Band has played Napa PorchFest, St. Helena's Harvest Festival, the local Italian Fest, Auction Napa Valley, Rianda Rally Car Show, and will be performing for the First Annual St. Helena PorchFest and the grand opening of the Brannan Center (in Fall 2025).
