Overview of Opportunities

Saint Helena Community Band takes great pleasure in sharing time and talents together to enhance the unique quality of life in our beloved community. Bringing greater harmony to Saint Helena and beyond is our united endeavor of generation to generation giving back the joy of music, and other blessings of Napa Valley living. As musicians provide the Band’s acoustical essence many support functions are needed to augment our completely charitable community organization.

The Band invites full community participation, encouraging all to attend performances, spread the word to friends and families, volunteer in-kind or professional services, and donate financially to help cover music, equipment and business expenses. If you are interested in supporting the Band as a volunteer, or would like to schedule a performance please address a letter to the Band Manager at PO Box 261, St Helena CA 94574 or email the band manager.

Your support and interest in the Saint Helena Community Band is very much appreciated. Donations may be made by check payable to SHCB and mailed to PO Box 261, St Helena CA 94574. As an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, your contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. The Band members are very grateful for your support.

You will receive an occasional email during the season with concert dates, flyers to share with others, or Band news. Your personal data will not be shared with any other entity. We all hope to see you at a performance in the near future!

Band membership is by open invitation*. If you live in the Napa Valley area and would like to play with Saint Helena Community Band, please see the rehearsals and concerts scheduled on the calendar Events page. Interested musicians are invited to come to a rehearsal, introduce yourself, play with your section, and let the section leader know your interest in playing regularly with the Band. Be sure to complete the contact info form so we can contact you about Band membership and current events. *Membership prerequisites are good music reading and playing abilities equivalent to current Band members.

All Band members are unpaid volunteers dedicated to making good music together in support of music education, enjoyment and excellence in our fine community. Most reside in or near Napa Valley. Musicians provide their own instruments except percussionists who use equipment purchased with donations to the Band. If you would like more information before attending a rehearsal please send an email describing your interest, the instrument you play, your musical background and any question you may have to the band manager.

Saint Helena Community Band rehearsals are Sundays from 6 to 8:15 pm in St. Helena High School Band Room 303, 1401 Grayson Avenue, in Saint Helena. The Band Room is just east of the Field House on Grayson Avenue, about a half block west of Main Street. Parking is available in front of the Field House (between the pool and tennis courts) and in the lane along the south side of SHHS, left of Vintage Hall, approaching from Main Street.
